We are the women of Ixoqui, Aj keen, founding members of the Cooperativa Integral de Producción de Mujeres Tejedoras (Women Weavers Integral Production Cooperative) created since 2001 by 30 women from the community.  We work together because we love to weave and know that if we put this love in what we do we can generate income for our families and employment for other women like us.

Weaving is exclusively for women and we have inherited it since pre-Hispanic time from our grandmothers. With a loom wrapped around the waist and to a column of a rural house we weave for long hours, send threads from one side of the loom to the other, with rhythm and technique, until we create forms and textures of incredible quality and originality.
